- Narrator Every morning, Bobo checked the biscuit tin. It was the agency's proudest treasure.
- Bobo Our famous biscuit tin, Pim. Always full, always ready. A detective runs on biscuits.
- Bobo Have one, Pim. I insist. Let me just lift the lid and —
- Bobo EMPTY?! Not one biscuit! Not a single crumb! We have been robbed!
- Pim Or eaten, Bobo. Biscuits do go somewhere.
- Bobo No time for jokes! Call everyone in. Someone here emptied our tin!
- Bobo The tin is empty. One of you is the biscuit thief. Own up!
- Milo It was me. I took one biscuit. I was so hungry after chopping wood. I thought it was for sharing!
- Bobo You walked in still holding it! Only ONE biscuit, though? The tin held far more than one!
- Ollie Oh, are we sharing? I had one too! You always say, help yourself, detective.
- Bobo TWO of you! A biscuit gang! Who else? Speak up!
- Fern I took one while tidying your shelf, Bobo. It looked lonely sitting there.
- Bobo Nobody leaves this room! Seal the doors!
- Pim Bobo, we do not have doors.
- Bobo Then seal the WALLS!
- Narrator Three friends. Three biscuits. Bobo smelled a giant crime.
- Bobo A whole ring of biscuit bandits, right under my nose! To the scene of the crumb!
- Pim Bobo, if you would just count —
- Bobo No counting! Chasing! Everyone, follow me!
- Ollie I shall stay and guard the tin! A brave job, but someone must.
- Bobo Crumbs! A trail of crumbs, leading to the kitchen! The mastermind fled this way!
- Pim Those crumbs fell from the biscuits your friends were holding, Bobo. We all walked here.
- Bobo Then the mastermind is clever. Hiding among honest crumbs! Milo, turn out your paws!
- Milo They're empty! I only had my one biscuit, I promise!
- Fern A calm detective counts, Bobo. A loud one only chases.
- Pim Fern is right. Back to the office. The answer was never a chase. It is a sum.
- Ollie I guarded the empty tin the whole time! Nothing else went missing!
- Pim Thank you, Ollie. Now let us do what Bobo skipped. Let us count.
- Pim The tin held five biscuits this morning. Show me the one you took. Milo?
- Pim Ollie. Fern. There — three biscuits, still in three paws.
- Pim Five biscuits this morning. Three here now. So, friends, who do YOU think has the last two?
- Bobo Oh. I took one this morning, with my tea, to help me think. I forgot.
- Narrator Four biscuits found. One still to explain. And the room went very quiet.
- Pim And the fifth was me. I had one last night, reading late. I meant to say.
- Bobo Pim?! Even YOU? The sensible one?
- Pim Even me, Bobo. Five friends, five biscuits. There was never a thief at all.
- Bobo Then the great crime is solved! The sneakiest sneaks were us all along!
- Pim So what happens now, detective?
- Bobo New rule! Take one biscuit, bake two to put back. Aprons on, everybody!
- Narrator Case closed. The biscuit bandits were caught, and put straight to work baking.
