Who took Fern's yummy cake right off the kitchen counter? Join Bobo & Pim, the woodland detective duo, as they follow a trail of little floury footprints in this fun animated mystery for kids!
Fern leaves her cake cooling in the kitchen — and a moment later it is GONE! Ollie the owl was right there and never saw a thing. Bobo blames Milo the squirrel straight away, but Pim looks closer: the footprints are small and dusted with white flour, and Milo's paws are big and muddy. The little prints lead out of the alley... and back the way they came. Where will the clue point?

- Narrator Fern's cake was cooling on the counter. She popped out to fetch the icing sugar.
- Fern Cooling nicely! Now, where did I leave that icing sugar? Back in a moment.
- Ollie Mmm! What is that lovely smell? Cake! I will have just a little sniff. A sniff is not a bite.
- Narrator Ollie leaned in for a big, happy sniff. He did not see what his tail was doing.
- Ollie The cake! It is GONE! Somebody took Fern's cake while my eyes were shut! A thief!
- Bobo A fine quiet day, Pim. Nothing to detect but my own excellent whiskers.
- Ollie Detectives! Fern's cake has been stolen! Gone, right off the kitchen counter!
- Ollie And this thief is DEVIOUS. I was right there, and I never saw a thing!
- Bobo Stolen cake! And who works right by that kitchen, thumping all day long? Milo!
- Narrator Bobo had a suspect before he had a single clue.
- Pim We have not seen the kitchen yet, Bobo. Let us look before we say.
- Bobo Then to the kitchen, for clues! The trail always tells the truth.
- Bobo Milo! A cake goes missing, and here you are, right beside the kitchen. Caught!
- Milo Me? I have been chopping wood all morning. I never even saw a cake!
- Bobo And these wood chips? A sneaky getaway trail! You chipped your way to freedom!
- Milo That is just my firewood, Bobo!
- Narrator Bobo was certain. Bobo is usually certain, and usually wrong.
- Pim Look closely, Bobo. These footprints are small, and dusted with white flour. Milo's paws are big and muddy.
- Pim And see — the prints do not stop here. They turn, and lead back the way we came.
- Pim Here is the clue, friends. Small, floury footprints, looping back to the kitchen.
- Pim So, who do YOU think bumped the cake?
- Fern I found my icing! Now what is all this — oh! There is my cake, down on the floor.
- Pim It only slid off the counter, Fern. A little squashed, but perfectly fine.
- Pim Now, Ollie — look down at your own two feet.
- Ollie White flour... on MY feet. And these little prints... they are mine!
- Narrator The clue had gone all the way around, and pointed straight home.
- Ollie It was me. I leaned in to sniff, and my tail knocked the cake right off.
- Ollie I was so busy smelling, I never even felt it.
- Milo So it was not me after all!
- Bobo No, Milo. It was not you, and I am sorry I shouted. I blamed you before I read a single clue.
- Fern No harm done, Ollie. A bumped cake still tastes sweet. Thank you for owning up.
- Ollie But you must lock me up, detectives! I am a danger to cakes everywhere!
- Bobo Lock you up? You found the clue, confessed, AND said sorry. Best-behaved thief I ever met!
- Ollie Then next time, I will sniff with my paws tucked behind my back!
- Pim Case closed: the cake that took itself for a walk, with help from an owl's nose.
- Narrator Case closed. The cake went for a stroll, and Ollie walked it right home. Now, who wants a slice?
